How to Earn a Nail Technician License in Florida

Obtaining a nail technician licensing in Florida can create many lucrative business opportunities. As a state with an ever-expanding population, potential clients are popping up everywhere — all looking to have fashionable-looking nails. Acquiring this certification doesn’t require much, and it can ultimately be a very rewarding career to get into.

Nail technician courses can be completed by attending various cosmetology schools and vocational colleges. Many private schools will require each applicant to have completed high school. Other schools have a more open acceptance policy and merely require completion of a GED. Some private schools will even accept applicants over the age of 16 who can complete the work. The training classes usually take about 300 hours to complete. This can be done in as little as 10 weeks. After successfully completing nail technician courses, Florida does not require further testing to begin working. However, there are continuing education requirements after the license is received.
