A homemade body scrub is an excellent way to exfoliate your skin. Most importantly, it is also friendly to the environment and inexpensive. No matter what your skin type, a homemade body scrub will leave your skin smooth and silky. Creating the body scrub can be left to your imagination, but here is a simple starter recipe:
You will need:
· A clean container (with a large opening so that your hand can easily scoop ingredients out)
· Sea Salt (how coarse will depend on preference and sensitivity of the skin)*
· Baby Oil (no fragrance if adding it)
· Vitamin E (this helps the skin look younger by reducing fine lines and wrinkles)
· Fragrance (any essential oils such as Lavender, Eucalyptus, Almond, etc.)
*Use Raw Sugar instead of Sea Salt if you’re going to use on the face.
Fill container halfway with Sea Salt (or Raw Sugar). Add baby oil a ½ to an inch above the Sea Salt (or Raw Sugar). Add a small amount of Vitamin E and the Fragrance. Mix well and let it infuse for about 20 minutes. Then it is ready for use! You can also use organic ingredients.
